Diane “Kara” Dolores Billingsley, 76, of Captain Cook died May 4 at home. Born in San Francisco, she was a retired teacher, author of poetry and short stories, owner-operator of Karaden Farm and Aloha Ocean Hideaway, co-founder of Kona Crisis Center, member of Greenpeace, the Sierra Club, Audubon Society and National Wildlife Foundation. Service held. Memorial donations to PBS or Greenpeace Foundation. John Adam Liborio, 84, of Hilo died May 27 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Laupahoehoe, he was a retired heavy equipment operator for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co. and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Ruthan Saimon, 54, of Kealakehe died May 19 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Epey, Marshall Islands, she was a member of the Protestant Church. All-night vigil 5 p.m. Thursday at Jonithen Jackson’s home, 92-1429 Princess Kaiulani Blvd., Ocean View. Graveside service and burial 3 p.m. Friday, June 6, at Naalehu County Cemetery. Casual attire.
